Crewtons medal in Humboldt race

The Crew team returned after spring break this week from an action-packed regatta that resulted in the Cyclones medaling in three out of five races.

After spending the week of spring break rigorously practicing twice a day in preparation for their race against Division 2 schools Humboldt State University, Seattle Pacific University, and Seattle University, the Cyclones headed out to Humboldt Bay on Saturday, March 31.

Spring… and pollen are in the air

Spring officially starts this thursday and for many Mills students the allergy season has already begun.

"I wake up and have super puffy eyes, runny nose, and a heavy head," said senior Rogena Swick. "I feel like I'm in the clouds.

Fall tuition to rise 5 percent

This past week, many students were sent scrambling for financial aid options after Mills College sent a letter notifying them that tuition will increase by 5 percent.

For the 2008-2009 school year, tuition will cost $34,170. This year's tuition costs $32,542.

APER wins community service award

On Jan. 14, for the fourth consecutive year in a row, Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation Department (APER) was awarded the Jostens Community Service Award.

APER won the award for participating in the annual Cyclone Kickoff, where they spent an entire day cleaning and refurbishing three public middle schools in Oakland on September 10, 2006.

CNN recently aired a segment highlighting the newest trend sweeping college campuses: a smoke-free trend.

According to an article that appeared on CNN's Web site (CNN.com), nearly 60 colleges have adopted a smoke-free policy, restricting smoking throughout the campuses to either designated areas or off campus.
