Barbara Jane Reyes reads from her new book Diwata at Eastwind Books in Berkeley on Oct. 16, 2010. In her third book, Diwata, Reyes uses traditional Filipino oral devices as meter and repetition to tell a song, story, and poem about Filipino culture and history. Barbara Jane Reyes is a poet, author, and currently teaches Creative Writing at Mills College.
