Proposed overhaul of Mills dining services

The most passionately expressed opinion that seems to permeate throughout the Mills campus is one of food, and its general inadequacy. Come now, ladies, for the indecent amount of money we spend attending this alleged prestigious school, we deserve properly delicious foods to nourish both our minds and bodies.

Registrar irks graduating seniors

On Feb. 6, the add deadline, the Registrar e-mails a good chunk of "graduating" seniors and tells us she doesn't think we'll be able to graduate with our expected majors and minors. While it's almost a month later, many of us still feel the impact of those e-mails.

The BU London Program gave me a welcome present: a student handbook lifted from TimeOut: London. Included is a cutesy but disingenuous article written by a too-chipper girl about culture shock, using obnoxious phrasing about "stages" that didn't seem to apply.

Obama the answer to political tension

I would first like to commend The Campanil on an eloquent, well-stated opinion piece in its Feb. 11 edition. You really captured many of the sentiments floating around this campus.

Dining services food drive a success

I wanted to let the campus know that the food drive we held at the end of the fall semester was a great success. The students, faculty, administration and Bon Appetit contributed $3,000 to Oakland Potluck. Oakland Potluck then distributed the food to different facilities around the city.

Being a more pagan-inclined person, as soon as I saw a visit to Stonehenge listed on the trips Arcadia offered, I had to visit the famed group of stones. I had some preconceived notions about the place that were quickly shot down by visiting.

Colleges should make student aid a funding priority

The pursuit of higher education is priceless, but in recent years, funding this academic endeavor has become increasingly expensive.

The costs of obtaining a college degree have been rising well above the rate of inflation for the past decade. At the same time, many universities have been fattening the size of their endowments.
