It’s that time of the year again, when the hard work of the Mills Dance Department will be showcased by the Mills Repertory Dance Company (MRDC) on Nov. 16 and 17. The MRDC Show Transmission is a tribute to the works of seminal artists and it will include a wide range of choregraphers including: Merce Cunningham restaged by Holley Farmer, Sonya Delwaide, Katie Faulkner, Yukie Fujimoto, Shinichi Iova-Koga, Mel Wong restaged by Silivia Martins. Both shows will be held in Lisser Theatere at 8:00 p.m. and in addition to the two shows there will be one matinee on Nov. 16 at 1:00 p.m. with a Q & A segment for high school students the Company has invited after the show. Transmission will also be taking their work across the bridge to the Dance Mission Theatre in San Francisco on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. where they will perform the full length show outside of the Mills campus.
Come support Mills’ rich celebration of the Fine Arts with over 20 Mills students taking part of the event. Look out in the next issue of The Campanil for interviews from the dancers and choregraphers as well as a deeper look into the process of Transmission.
