Mills College recently announced Alecia A. DeCoudreaux as its 13th President, who will take on the position on July 1, 2011. The news was accepted by students and questioned by the editorial staff at The Campanil, raising questions regarding her academic leadership since DeCoudreaux is mostly known for her executive role in business.
The President-elect’s speech on Jan. 20 at the Littlefield Music Hall was eloquent, easy to understand and reminiscent of President Barack Obama.
After the ceremony, I noticed an outfit that stood out. It was worn by Mara Hruby, who turned out to be DeCoudreaux’s niece.
Mara’s style is impeccable to say the least. I had heard of the singer-songwriter’s style through my summer internship with Bay Area wardrobe styling company, Urban Vintage.
Check out a few looks of Mara in Essence Magazine and Oakland’s pop-culture blog, 38thnotes.com.
