Hello, my darlings! I’m back and feeling fresh in this breezy weather. I can see that you, my fellow Millsies, are feeling the same. I loved the cute mix of bright colors and toned-down classics that I saw out there today.
I have noticed that dressing for this weather is rather tricky because you can’t quite predict the wind. Will it be an easy breeze? Or a chilly one? Well, one can never go wrong with jeans and a trendy crop top or a sundress with a cardigan!
Amanda Humphrey, a senior, was roaming around the Mills campus in her simple and sweet floral top and black pleated skirt — both of which were purchased at Urban Outfitters. The form-fitting top contrast the flowy nature of her skirt. The eclectic colors and print of the top was a nice balance with the elegant black skirt. Her necklace was a gift from her mother.
Simple and sweet is an easy way to wow your peers with your sense of style. It’s quick and just comes naturally to you!
Wendy Zhang, a first year, wowed me with her simple designer ensemble. Her white, long-sleeved knit top was from Gap. She paired the top with simple Levi’s jeans that she rolled up at the bottom to highlight her fabulous Ferragamo pumps.
I swear I fell in love with these coral pointed-toe beauties! She topped off her look with a red Louis Vuitton purse, a gold Tiffany’s key necklace, and her red and gold stiletto-style nails. Zhang put a few simple pieces together in order to create a flattering, outstanding outfit.
Remember my darlings, you never have to try too hard in fashion! Simplicity, as my father always taught me, is elegance. Elegance is inherently beautiful. All you need is a pop of color and — this is simply my own bias — a piece of gold jewelry. Gold goes with everything and adds a bit of shine and flare to your overall look!
