Portland band Red Fang brings music to Oakland

Oakland's Stork Club hosted Red Fang, a heavy rock band based in Portland, Oregon on Mar. 24. They describe their music style as "high-powered, classic Northwest street metal."

The band was initially divided over whether the city of Portland influenced their style.

Japanese band delights S.F. audience

On Thursday, Nov. 13, the Japanese rock band POLYSICS made a stop on their U.S. tour at Bottom of the Hill, a small venue at the bottom of Potrero Hill in San Francisco where some might walk down the lampless street thinking, "I'm going to die."

POLYSICS is a Tokyo-based band that was formed in 1997 by vocalist/guitarist HAYASHI while he was still in high school.

When I approached, the stranger handed me a homemade CD; it had no case, only 'Illusion Lounge' scribbled on it in handwriting.
