Letter from International Student Association

Dear Mills Community,

The International Student Association (ISA), founded this year at Mills, is an organization dedicated to facilitating international students’ transition to life in the United States and Mills, to advancing international students’ rights and privileges in the United States and to providing support to serve the needs of international students.

We also aim to promote international cooperation and cultural diversity among students of different nationalities at Mills. We currently have many members from foreign countries but are very welcoming to students from the United States as well.

This coming Thursday, Nov. 10, we will be selling Bubble Tea to raise funds for our community. Bubble Tea, also known as Pearl Milk Tea or Boba Milk Tea, is a very popular tea drink originally from Taiwan that has become very popular in China, other Asian countries and the rest of the world.  It is a mix of black tea and milk, and is famous for its small chewy balls made of tapioca starch called “Zhenzhu” (،أ‮/‬‭]‬) in Chinese, meaning “pearls.”

Our members did a lot of research for recipes and came up with the best way to make Bubble Tea. We are very confident that ours is as delicious as those sold in Chinatown. We will sell Bubble Tea at Rothwell Center from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please come support our ISA community and enjoy a cup of wonderful original flavor Bubble Tea.

Sincerely,

Tianling Ou, senior
