Students are blind to Oakland’s charm

I really enjoyed reading Kate Creps’ column about all the great
things Oakland has to offer. During my time on campus, I found that
many Mills students were blind to the charms of Oakland, preferring
instead to explore only Berkeley and San Francisco. They spent
countless weekends on Telegraph and Shattuck Avenues before
venturing out to the Parkway or the Grand Lake for a movie.

Kate – Oakland has innumerable fun expeditions ahead. I
recommend spending some time walking around Lake Merritt and
visiting the Old Oakland section of downtown (you were almost there
– it’s just at West of Broadway and 10th).
