Buying books has been difficult for many students this year simply because the books just haven’t arrived.
“Of the 566 different titles used in this campus about 60 of them were not here on the first day of class,” said bookstore manager Mike Sellers. The bookstore therefore faces being 30 books short for a dozen different classes, he added.
Several different circumstances have caused the books’ delay. New professors did not order the books on time, increased enrollment is requiring an increase in the number of books needed, and simply having the books arrive from the publishers has caused the delay.
“Due to an overwhelming increase in enrollment the bookstore was unable to predict the number of books to order,” said senior Jennie Owens, Customer Service Assistant.
