In the Sept. 18 home match, Mills scored one point at the beginning against their opponents from Hope International.

Mills has yet to beat the Fullerton-based athletes in recent years, but that did not stop the soccer team from playing their best, according to Themy Adachi, the Director of Athletics.

“I am really excited on how well they’re playing,” said Adachi. “They play with such intensity, heart and focus,” she added.

Adachi was one of the many Mills supporters who came out cheering with signs and loud noisemakers. “Refuse to lose!” was one of many chants as the crowd clapped for the Mills team.

The soccer team ended the game on a bright note: besides complimenting the other team on a “good game,” they serenaded their fellow soccer player Chloe Garcia for her 21st birthday.

Soccer’s next match is scheduled for Sept. 26 against Santa Cruz’s Bethany University.
