Scabies outbreak in residence hall

A couple of residential students have been treated for scabies, “an infestation of the skin by the human itch mite,” according to Dr. Joi D. Lewis, Dean of Student Life and Vice Provost.

Lewis’s email to the Mills community today stated that less than five students have been affected and that there is no evidence the infestation has spread outside of their residency.

It is not yet clear if there is to be a quarantine of these students, as scabies cannot be contracted by sharing a hall or bathroom with those affected
