The Mills Repertory Dance Company is proud to announce it’s 2018 fall Faculty and Guest Artist concert, Flux 5: With(in) Reach.Mills College’s Repertory Dance Company (RepCo) is gearing up for a unique season of creation, activism, and performance. RepCo prides itself on featuring works by up-and-coming contemporary choreographers. This season features premieres by international Guest Artists Philip Agyapong (Ghana) and Victor Talledos (Mexico) along with faculty members Abby Crain and Kara Davis. Agyapong’s work “Ɛhyɛn Mu”, reminisces traditional and cultural moments of some Africans as they were being shipped from their continent of abode to a destination “unknown”. Crain’s “ UnderStory/ Where did you go?”, with original music by Timothy Russell explores a haunting mixtape of emotion, memory, absurdity, and collective imagination. Davis’ “Strata” utilizes ideas of destruction and renewal found in the natural world as a point of departure to mine individual emotional topographies within the body. Talledos’ currently untitled quintet is a celebration of feminine power, audacity of perseverance, and finessed herstory of resilience.
Performances have been rescheduled and will take place Wednesday, December 5th at 8 pm, and Thursday, December 6th 1 pm & 8 pm in the newly renovated Marilyn McArthur Holland ’45 Performance Theatre in Lisser Hall on Mills College campus.
