The Mills volleyball team played their second home game of the season on September 21 at 7 p.m. against the UC Santa Cruz banana slugs. The final score was 0-3, UCSC in the lead.
With a losing score of 3-25 in the first period, it seemed as though the cyclones were ready to hang up the net and call it a day.
Mills stepped it up in the second period, however, delivering more difficult serves and keeping the ball in the air for longer periods of time. Sill, the ending score for the second period was 11-25, UCSC still in the lead.
The third period ended with a losing score of 6-25.
So far this season, the Mills volleyball team has also lost 0-3 against La Sierra twice and West Coast Baptist; they lost to California Teach 1-3.
UCSC has played 11 additional games this season, winning 5 and losing 6.
