District Six Council Member Moses Mayne visited Mills for the first time, speaking about Oakland community issues.
Mayne was invited by Femme Dems President Amber Maltbie.
The purpose of Mayne’s visit was to address the issue of bridging the gap between Mills and the community.
“While he highlighted some of the key issues pertinent surrounding Mills, he failed to pinpoint or outline direct ways to connect the two communities,” said Maltbie.
One way that Mayne thought that Mills could connect themselves to the community would be to initiate an outreach program with neighboring high schools.
Mayne believed that it is important to be aware of change within the community. Mayne also said that it is important to have networking between himself and the community in order for the Oakland community. He said, “My name is Moses. I am a worker.”
