Cyclone of the Week honors go to Dani Sherman. Dani is a sophomore on the swim team and has already seen great success this season. In her first year, Dani swam to a personal best in the 500 yard freestyle, taking 20 seconds off her previous times. This year, in only the fourth meet of the season, she posted a lifetime best time, beating last year’s record by two seconds with a time of 6:40.23 — an impressive feat that was possible through the hard work she puts in on a daily basis. As a distance swimmer, Dani swims long sets at almost every practice. Coach Neil Virtue speaks to this hard work, but also highlights the great energy and fun Dani brings to the team. Her balance of dedication, effort, and energy make Dani not only a notable swimmer, but a valuable teammate.
