According to the Oct. 19 memo sent out by Mills President Alecia DeCoudreaux, three programs are proposed to be “taught-out” over the next few years. These programs include American Studies, the dance undergraduate major and both undergraduate and graduate levels of the Book Art program.

Book art students, past and present, have quickly begun organizing a response to the proposal that their department is to be cut.

Beck Levy, former president of the Book Art Club and recipient of the Rosalind Keep award, has penned an argument for keeping the department at Mills. There is also a petition and Tumblr page dedicated to preserving the department.
