Excerpts from BART Police dispatch transcripts from the events leading up to the shooting of unarmed passenger Oscar Grant by former BART Police Officer Johannes Mehserle on the Fruitvale platform in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day 2009 were made available today by the Los Angeles Superior Court.
The transcripts show communication between dispatch and BART police officers, beginning at the time the fight on the Dublin/Pleasanton-bound train was reported as it made its way from the Lake Merritt station to Fruitvale.

Dispatch clearly tells an officer no weapons are involved in the fight.
And later:
Mehserle has been charged with murder for Grant’s death by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. Today marked the beginning of defense arguments on his behalf.
