A 7.1 earthquake struck the North Coast of Japan on Apr. 7 at 7:32 a.m. PT (10:32 p.m. in Japan).
The Japan Meteorological Agency immediately released tsunami warnings with wave heights around two meters, but the warnings were lifted around 9 a.m. PT.
Tokyo Electric Power Co. reported that none of the six reactors at the vulnerable Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power plant were affected.
