The last time we’ve updated, we have listed out seven awards we have won for the California College Media Association’s (CCMA) annual student journalism competition in their non-weekly print section against other California college presses. However, we didn’t know where the awards were placed until we got to the event at Saturday night. Now, we do!
Take a look at the certificates we received:
Received by Chief News Editor Lauren Sliter.
Received by Sports and Health Editor Bonnie Horgos for Contributing Writer Shelby Gibbs. Shelby wrote a column on the lives of student athletes.
Received again by Lauren Sliter for her coverage on the San Bruno Fire with a eye-witness account from Mills student Hilda Ramos.
Online Editor Melodie Miu brings home two certificates and The Campanil‘s only first place plaque on her story about a Paris art gallery in San Francisco. She won the other award for an article on a Mills student who works as a Slow Sex and Desire Coach.
This certificate was received by Features Editor Stephanie Scerra. She captured a photo of a group of male graduate students from the Mills music program.
Received again by Stephanie Scerra in collaboration with former Design Editor and current Managing Editor Nicole Vermeer.
A big thank you!
