Resuming transfer students “stepchild” of Mills

I went through orientation with the incoming class of 2011. It was incredibly frustrating, because it took an entire weekend. Amidst all of the orientation activities, there were only one and a half hours specifically dedicated to the incoming transfer students; there was nothing arranged for the *resuming* transfer students.
[On March 6] the administration announced a focus group in hopes to improve the transfer experience.

I have to wonder what sort of group they will get when they announce the meeting with less than a week’s notice. Like many resuming transfer students, my life is fully scheduled and not very flexible on short notice. I feel that the administration does not fully understand how much effort it takes for a resuming student to be here at all, much less to schedule additional time on campus with short notice. If they don’t understand that simple fact, how can they improve the experience?
