Tonianne Nemeth checks with Jean Wong to make sure everyone in the English department was present on the Oval at Wednesday's earthquake preparedness drill. The drill was organized by the Department of Public Safety as part of the college's ongoing emergency preparedness plans. The drill lasted for the whole of Wednesday's 11-12:15 p.m. class period. Many students were annoyed by the drill, citing that it was unnecessary, but others thought it was important. "I don't think it's stupid, it's inconvenient. It would be inconvenient if we were unprepared in an emergency," said Nancy Jo Turner, graduate student.
